How outcomes will be delivered
WAMSI will deliver a package of economic, social and environmental benefits to Western Australia and its community, ranging from those involved in commercial exploitation to the conservation of biological diversity and to a variety of recreational pursuits.
These outcomes will be delivered by:
- identifying and establishing the integrated marine science research themes;
- identifying the specific research outputs within each theme;
- investing in postgraduate training and developing education programs in marine science;
- attracting new investment into marine science research;
- communicating generally the work undertaken by the Institution and developing pathways for the communication and adoption of the outputs of the marine scientific research;
- encouraging the integration of research through adaptive management frameworks;
- building a constituency of support for marine science and research;
- planning for the long term financial viability of the Institution beyond the initial 5-year Western Australian Major Research Facility funding.
