Facilities

Housed in the Centre for Learning Technology at UWA, SPICE is extremely well equipped with the latest state-of-the-art learning technologies.

The basement boasts facilties including:

  • a computer lab
  • a sound studio
  • a photographic/3D visualization studio
  • a 60 seat presentation room
  • a kitchenette

Teachers are able to access and utilise 3D visualisation equipment, interactive whiteboards, audio and video recording studios, and a multimedia computing centre - allowing exploration into new ways of engaging students in science using SPICE resources.

The ground floor contains:

  • a meeting room
  • the SPICE Room
  • a kitchen
  • toilets
  • a café area
  • offices
  • reception

Once again the meeting room is well equipped with the latest in audiovisual equipment ready to be utilised by teachers for professional learning experiences or even meetings. The SPICE room contains an interactive whiteboard, a huge LCD screen display, a digital projector and 24 laptops ready for interactive computer sessions and training.

These facilities are used for a wide range of SPICE professional learning activities, and are accessible to other groups working within science education.
