About the program
SPICE is a secondary science teacher enrichment program formed through a partnership between the WA Department of Education and Training and the University of Western Australia. SPICE has three interconnected components:
SPICE provides opportunities for teachers in WA Government schools to:
- increase their enthusiasm for science and for their roles in teaching science to their students
- increase their knowledge and understanding of the latest science in their specialist area and of the associated investigative skills
- select and utilise a range of modern learning technologies in their classrooms
- strengthen their knowledge and confidence to implement teaching, learning and assessment approaches that will enhance their students’ learning
SPICE is also part of the Enriching Science Unlocking Resources working group. | |
